So, you want to know what the custom shop is all about, right? Nice!
Warlord’s Custom Shop, is the place where you can order stuff that do not belong to the “Warlord Standard Series“. What do i mean? It can be an idea of yours, a concept you like or your band’s logo!
Building handmade effect is very creative, and very fun to do. There are thousands of ideas that can be build. Each one of you has some ideas in mind, right?
The Warlord Standard Series is about a set of enclosure and circuit designs. Warlord’s standard models are build with the best value for money ratio. That’s why I call them standard models. A unit on a descent price, that’s handmade, classy, and of better quality than the mass production models.
For the Standard Designs, check these :
Warlord Overdrive OD1, Blue Spider Overdrive , Warlord Soul Booster, Digital Delay pedal, Small Muffa Bass Fuzz, Soul Breaker Distortion, Warlord Chorus pedal.
Custom Shop can also be about circuit designs. So if you want a modified circuit (more gain, extra boost, switches etc), custom shop is the place for you!
The pedals heart is it’s circuit. All these resistors, capacitors and electronic stuff. All these remain the same in both series : Standard or Custom. So the sound quality of the unit is the same.
So, the heart remains the same, but the look changes. The sound quality is exactly the same on Standard models and on Custom models. Custom models can always have the benefit of more expensive or delicate components. For example, there are potentiometers on the market that cost 100$ per piece! If you want such an extreme thing, go for it! It’s up to you!
Warlord’s Custom Shop is the same strong heart beating under a custom looking body. The enclosure of the circuit can be of any size, any color, any combination of color-lettering etc. It can be an idea of yours, a concept you like, your band’s logo etc. That’s what I mean by the term “Custom”. Custom is something you want only for you. Something personal.
When talking with Ben Higgins about a distortion pedal he wanted, he told me to design something in black and red, inspired by his art (found here). I’ve start to work on this idea, and we ended up on design No.4 plus the “fist through the wall” of No.6
I’ve worked on this, and the final concept is here
Here you can see the final, real aluminum enclosure being processed to Ben’s specifications and requests.
The design applied, and off for the finishing process.
I then had a surprise for Ben : Light emitting borders that change color depending on the distortion mode.
Check the final Soul Breaker Distortion guitar pedal.
