Overdrive pedal for classic rock / bluesy tones.
Overdrive pedal Warlord OD1 is a classic sounding Overdrive pedal. Perfect for bluesy & hard rock tones. It can be also used as a boost pedal. It is a must have pedal for all guitarists no matter the music style they play. It’s an op amp Overdrive with silicon diodes on the soft clipping stage. The gain knob adjusts the amount of distortion. The tone knob adjusts treble and the level knob adjusts the output volume of the pedal.
This pedal tries to mimic the sound of a vintage tube amplifier. It’s sound includes a “mid-hump,” which means that the circuit accentuates frequencies between the bass and treble ranges (mid-frequencies). Many guitarists prefer this sort of equalization, as it helps to keep their sound from getting lost in the overall mix of the band. It’s also a very good use as a booster pedal. Keep the gain knob low, crank the level knob up and you’ve got a great booster for your clean signal, or a great “drive saturation” for your amp’s drive channel. Overdrive pedal Warlord OD1 is based on the legendary Tube Screamer anatomy. Tube screamer, is considered the best Overdrive guitar pedal ever build. Not to mention that there are thousands of clones, re issues etc. Most of the guitar effects companies have build many overdrive pedals based on the Tube Screamer anatomy. Maxon od 808, Maxon od9 or Boss SD1 are all based on the Tube screamer 808, and Tube screamer TS9 respectively. So, whenever you see a Drive-Tone-Level knob set up on an Overdrive pedal, chances are it’s based on the Tube Screamer. Since it’s been used for many years from legendary guitar players like SRV, Santana, Steve Vai and many others, it’s considered a must have piece of equipment for every kind of guitarist, no matter what music style he is into. If you’re looking for an Overdrive pedal with more gain than the usual overdrives, check the Blue Spider. If guitar Overdrive is not your type, and you are looking for a distortion pedal, check the Soul breaker distortion pedal or the Saturator fuzz distortion guitar pedal.
Warlord Overdrive pedal OD1 is a “Stardust” enclosure with black pvc plating and white lettering. The knobs are metallic, chrome. There is a green led status indicator and true bypass switching. For the available standard designs, click here
Warlord Overdrive pedal OD1 has a great amount of overdrive and very nice mid response. It does mimic the sound of a tube, and sounds great if it drives a tube amp. It’s sound capabilities can go from low gain smooth mild overdrive for bluesy stuff, up to some hard rock sounds when the drive knob is maxed out. Keeping the drive pot low and having the level pot maxed, is great for volume boost. It can also saturate and warm your main distortion, providing longer sustain and great feedback before your distortion pedal, or in front of your distortion stage of your amp. Try it both, and you will see what i mean!
